Am creating the appraisal form for IIUM academic staff using Microsoft Excel……when it come to the part I have to type in the description…..I need to stop. There are a lot to type….attached is the draft copy….
Just click the image to download….but as I told you it is not ready yet. Why I need to create an electronic form? Because I hate handwriting. I am too lazy to write. And….I don’t like repetitive thing. I know that I need to submit this form at least twice a year…therefore I create the automated version, so that I just need to choose my position & the appropriate weightage will be inserted to all relevant cells.
One good thing about this form, it should eliminates the need to submit any other form for Annual Salary Movement, Report on Assessment of Performance, Promotion & for rrnewal of contract……However I’ll wait & see whether it’s true that MSD won’t ask for anything else but this form…..
This is not an offical system developed by authority. It is just my contribution to colleagues who wish to use it. It is by no mean free from error & I shall not be responsible for any error or bad consequences when ones use this template.
This template is designed using Microsoft Excel 2007 & you should enable the macro. To save, I recommend you to save it as PDF or if you want to it as Excel format, just save it without its macro enabled.
It’s unfair! Yup….IIUM is a registered company but it was created as a company so that we can use English & Arab as the medium of instruction. Those days, only privates can use English as official language. (And now they are teaching science & math to young kids in English! And make a hoo-haa about it in newspaper trying to defend their move).
We got 100% budget from government. We have to follow Government Order (GO). We don’t make profit. More importantly our salary & promotion follows government scheme. But because we are a company…..we are treated as one. One of the major issue now…..all our allowance (that constitute almost 40% of the salary) are taxable!
Come on lah government!! Sedar lah sikit! If we are a government institute, rectify this private-publis status once & for all. Or…just give us the salary of the private medical university lecturers! *BIG GRIN* (something like quardruple than the current rate).
Well….that’s what a friend told me the rumour he heard recently. I do not know how this rumour started but just want to clarify to everyone that it is a rumour only and listen to this guys………….I am not quitting IIUM. Not yet. My contract still alive & kicking till the end of 2010. And more importantly I still like teaching. Err…if I am offered something better, to teach somewhere else…..err…that’s a different story. Ha ha ha….
Just heard rumors……there are at least two existing lecturers who are planning to quit…for various reasons. Hmmmm….. not me ye guys. Not me.
